This artwork by Boris Valentinovich Shcherbakov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Night on the Dniester sold for GBP 20,790.00 (€ 24,409.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Boris Valentinovich Shcherbakov; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot In the Fields, Yasnaya Polyana sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,504.61).
