A top price for Boris Smelov - as previously expected
In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Changing Focus - A Collection of Russian and Eastern European Contemporary Photography, which included the work Eight Works From St Petersburg Series by Boris Smelov. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,401.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Eight Works From St Petersburg Series is the most expensive artwork by Boris Smelov that we have observed at auctions so far.
