This artwork by Bita Vakili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in April 2012. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II auction, the work Dreaming New York sold for USD 45,000.00 (€ 34,016.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. This high result makes Dreaming New York the most expensive artwork by Bita Vakili that we have observed at auctions so far.
