In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Cathedral Gates in Winter by Lovell Birge Harrison. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,754.42), 39% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lovell Birge Harrison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunrise, Quebec, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 45,600.00 (€ 37,817.22).

Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cathedral Gates in Winter von Lovell Birge Harrison zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.754,42) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lovell Birge Harrison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunrise, Quebec beobachtet, die im September 2005 für USD 45.600,00 (€ 37.817,22) versteigert wurde.
