The work Rachmaninov with Dog and Daughter by Billy Childish was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 28,020.00 (€ 31,878.16), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Billy Childish have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).

Die Arbeit Rachmaninov with Dog and Daughter von Billy Childish wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 28.020,00 (€ 31.878,16) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Billy Childish auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
