Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Death of Meleager (recto); Calligraphic exercises (verso) by Biagio Pupini was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Christies in New York in February 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,404.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Biagio Pupini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ among the doctors in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 23,805.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Death of Meleager (recto); Calligraphic exercises (verso) von Biagio Pupini wurde im Februar 2024 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.404,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Biagio Pupini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Christ among the doctors im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 23.805,40).
