The »bidding war« ended at USD 74,500.00 (€ 51,822.48), 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bessie Potter Vonnoh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Water Nymph': A Fountain, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 147,000.00 (€ 140,200.29).
