Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowers in a glass jug by Bessie Davidson was sold in the Topographical Pictures with Australian Art auction at Christies in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,963.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bessie Davidson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Still Life With Fruit And Flowers in November 2008 with an auction result of AUD 74,400.00 (€ 38,366.35).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.963,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
