Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work The Last Gasp by Beryl Cook. The price achieved of GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,126.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Beryl Cook - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Red Umbrella, which sold at auction in September last year for GBP 38,100.00 (€ 43,361.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Last Gasp von Beryl Cook zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.126,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Beryl Cook mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Red Umbrella beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für GBP 38.100,00 (€ 43.361,48) versteigert wurde.
