Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bertram Priestman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in July 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Sketch For 'The Heart Of The West Riding' sold for GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,233.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bertram Priestman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Angler; Green Valley sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bertram Priestman erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Sketch For 'The Heart Of The West Riding' für GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.233,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bertram Priestman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Angler; Green Valley im November 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52).
