In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Morning in the harbour, St Helens, Isle of Wight by Bertram Priestman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,418.65), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bertram Priestman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Angler; Green Valley, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morning in the harbour, St Helens, Isle of Wight von Bertram Priestman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.418,65) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bertram Priestman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Angler; Green Valley beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52) versteigert wurde.
