Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Breton Mother and Child by Bernhard Gutmann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,134.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernhard Gutmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elms at Sunrise in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 30,231.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Breton Mother and Child von Bernhard Gutmann zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.134,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bernhard Gutmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elms at Sunrise im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 30.231,56).
