This artwork by Bernardino Cesari achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Perseus And Andromeda sold for USD 106,250.00 (€ 91,045.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bernardino Cesari; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Perseus And Andromeda sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,905.91).
