The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,730.57), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Bernardino Barbatelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Elaborate Cartouche With The Medici Arms Flanked By Figures of Justice And Wisdom in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 48,736.48).
