Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2004 Christies in Rome held the auction ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO, which included the work Taormina, sosta lungo la via by Bernardo Hay. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,472.00 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernardo Hay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishermen off Capri, which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 11,046.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in Rom die Auktion ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO durch, in der auch die Arbeit Taormina, sosta lungo la via von Bernardo Hay zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.472,00 und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernardo Hay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishermen off Capri beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 11.046,26) versteigert wurde.
