This work of art by Bernard Finegan Gribble could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work An armoured-cruiser leaving Portsmouth Harbour with a Royal Naval two-decker off to port changed hands for USD 1,195.00 (€ 960.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bernard Finegan Gribble achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The return of the Mayflower in July 2006 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,862.74).
