Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Actor by Benny Andrews. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,565.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benny Andrews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bath, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,806.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Actor von Benny Andrews zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.565,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Benny Andrews mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bath beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.806,26) versteigert wurde.
