Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Game of Chess by Benjamin Eugène Fichel was sold in the 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,556.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Eugène Fichel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Music Concert in October 2003 with an auction result of USD 38,240.00 (€ 32,939.96).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.556,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden.
