Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work View of a Garden by Benjamin Chambers Brown for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,421.07). This price was achieved in the auction California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture at Christies in Beverly Hills and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Chambers Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poppy Fields Near Pasadena in August 2019 with an auction result of USD 60,075.00 (€ 54,668.30).
