Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Cottages by a river by Benjamin Barker of Bath for GBP 126.00 (€ 148.02). This price was achieved in the auction Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Barker of Bath achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded landscape with figures on a track, a bridge beyond in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,787.23).
