In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included this untitled work by Benito Quinquela Martín. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,451.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benito Quinquela Martín achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Puerto De Buenos Aires in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 421,000.00 (€ 270,565.55).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Benito Quinquela Martín zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.451,73) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benito Quinquela Martín erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Puerto De Buenos Aires im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 421.000,00 (€ 270.565,55).
