In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Untitled (Sikán with Goat) by Belkis Ayón. The »bidding war« ended at USD 63,000.00 (€ 57,947.02), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Belkis Ayón - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Desobediencia, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 214,200.00 (€ 218,951.24).

Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Sikán with Goat) von Belkis Ayón zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 57.947,02) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Belkis Ayón mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Desobediencia beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 214.200,00 (€ 218.951,24) versteigert wurde.
