Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Jeune Aveugle Avec Chouette by Basil Rakoczi for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 3,322.03). This price was achieved in the auction Irish Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Rakoczi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,439.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Jeune Aveugle Avec Chouette von Basil Rakoczi für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 3.322,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Basil Rakoczi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.439,07) versteigert wurde.
