Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cap D’Ail by Basil Rakoczi was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2018. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,211.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Rakoczi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,439.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cap D’Ail von Basil Rakoczi wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.211,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Basil Rakoczi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.439,07) versteigert wurde.
