Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Boy On A Cock III by Basil Rakoczi was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,328.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Rakoczi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,439.07).

Die Arbeit Boy On A Cock III von Basil Rakoczi kam im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.328,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Basil Rakoczi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.439,07) versteigert wurde.
