In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Blue Titmous On Hawthorn by Basil Ede. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 312.00 (€ 462.40), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Ede achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lagopus scoticus - Red Grouse in a Highland Landscape in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,066.71).

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Titmous On Hawthorn von Basil Ede zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 312,00 (€ 462,40) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Ede erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lagopus scoticus - Red Grouse in a Highland Landscape im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.066,71).
