Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Basil Beattie could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work Four Choices changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 450.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Beattie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bound Up in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,054.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Basil Beattie konnte im Dezember 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Four Choices für GBP 293,75 (€ 450,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Beattie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bound Up im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.054,20).
