In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work The Temptation of Adam by Bartholomäus Spranger. The »bidding war« ended at USD 251,200.00 (€ 192,505.17), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartholomäus Spranger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mercury Carrying Psyche To Mount Olympus in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 3,368,750.00 (€ 3,791,034.67).

Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Temptation of Adam von Bartholomäus Spranger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 251.200,00 (€ 192.505,17) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bartholomäus Spranger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mercury Carrying Psyche To Mount Olympus im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.368.750,00 (€ 3.791.034,67).
