Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work St. Dorothy by Bartholomäus Spranger was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,000.00 (€ 28,973.79), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartholomäus Spranger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mercury Carrying Psyche To Mount Olympus in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 3,368,750.00 (€ 3,791,034.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit St. Dorothy von Bartholomäus Spranger wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 28.973,79) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bartholomäus Spranger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mercury Carrying Psyche To Mount Olympus im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.368.750,00 (€ 3.791.034,67).
