In December 2020 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art - Day Sale, which included the work Purification XXIX - 2010 by Barthélémy Toguo. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,450.00 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barthélémy Toguo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work What'S Your Name, 2003, which sold at auction in December 2021 for MAD 260,000.00 (€ 24,580.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art - Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Purification XXIX - 2010 von Barthélémy Toguo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.450,00 und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Barthélémy Toguo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit What'S Your Name, 2003 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für MAD 260.000,00 (€ 24.580,31) versteigert wurde.
