Auction result well in line with expectations
The work John Mcgahern by Barrie Cooke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,072.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barrie Cooke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Long Nude, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,846.93).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.072,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Barrie Cooke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Long Nude beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.846,93) versteigert wurde.
