Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work An Elegant Hawking Party Setting Off From A Country House by Barent Gael. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,881.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barent Gael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers at a blacksmith's in November 2000 with an auction result of NLG 117,020.00 (€ 54,822.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Elegant Hawking Party Setting Off From A Country House von Barent Gael zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.881,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barent Gael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travellers at a blacksmith's im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 117.020,00 (€ 54.822,00).
