Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings, which included the work A Village Market Beside A Church by Barent Gael. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,849.78), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Barent Gael have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travellers at a blacksmith's in November 2000 with an auction result of NLG 117,020.00 (€ 54,822.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Village Market Beside A Church von Barent Gael zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.849,78) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barent Gael auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travellers at a blacksmith's im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 117.020,00 (€ 54.822,00).
