Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Barbro Östlihn could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Living with Art auction, the work Pier 20, New York City changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 829.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbro Östlihn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "2-4 Ferry St. NYC" in November 2021 with an auction result of SEK 540,000.00 (€ 52,674.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Barbro Östlihn konnte im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Living with Art wechselte die Arbeit Pier 20, New York City für USD 875,00 (€ 829,23) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbro Östlihn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "2-4 Ferry St. NYC" im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 540.000,00 (€ 52.674,76).
