This artwork by Barbara Kasten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2017. In the Postwar and Contemporary Photographs auction, the work 'Construct Lb/5' sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,407.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barbara Kasten; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Double Negative 6 sold at auction in March 2019 with the realized price of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,132.88).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Barbara Kasten; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Double Negative 6 im März 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.132,88).
