In March 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, which included the work A Still Life With Sunflowers And Gladioli by Barbara van Houten. The auction ended at the price of EUR 6,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Barbara van Houten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A still life with hydrangea, amaryliss and rhododendrons in terracotta pots in October 2001 with an auction result of EUR 24,675.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Still Life With Sunflowers And Gladioli von Barbara van Houten zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 6.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barbara van Houten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A still life with hydrangea, amaryliss and rhododendrons in terracotta pots im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.675,00.
