Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Barbara van Houten could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism auction, the work Girl with a blue ribbon reading; and Girl with a white bonnet changed hands for EUR 2,500.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Barbara van Houten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A still life with hydrangea, amaryliss and rhododendrons in terracotta pots in October 2001 with an auction result of EUR 24,675.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Barbara van Houten konnte im November 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barbara van Houten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A still life with hydrangea, amaryliss and rhododendrons in terracotta pots im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.675,00.
