The work Nu debout (recto); Nu debout les bras croisés (verso) by Balthus was sold in the Art Moderne auction at Christies in Paris in October last year. It achieved a price of EUR 10,080.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thérèse Sur Une Banquette in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 19,002,500.00 (€ 17,044,129.52).

Die Arbeit Nu debout (recto); Nu debout les bras croisés (verso) von Balthus wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Art Moderne bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 10.080,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thérèse Sur Une Banquette im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.002.500,00 (€ 17.044.129,52).
