Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work The Country Fair by Baldomero Galofre y Giménez. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,324.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baldomero Galofre y Giménez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing Boats on the Shore, which sold at auction in February 2003 for USD 35,850.00 (€ 33,259.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Country Fair von Baldomero Galofre y Giménez zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.324,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Baldomero Galofre y Giménez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishing Boats on the Shore beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für USD 35.850,00 (€ 33.259,11) versteigert wurde.
