Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Works On Paper by Bal Chhabda for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,916.93). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bal Chhabda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work South Indian Landscape in September this year with an auction result of USD 157,500.00 (€ 148,809.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Works On Paper von Bal Chhabda für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.916,93) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bal Chhabda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit South Indian Landscape im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.500,00 (€ 148.809,52).
