With a fitted wooden box, the lid inscribed by Naito Tora (1866-1943), famous Japanese collector and connoisseur. Inscription describes this as belonging to Saito To'an collection.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Fish by Bada Shanren. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 420,000.00 (€ 40,729.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bada Shanren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Of Natore in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 76,910,000.00 (€ 8,889,373.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fish von Bada Shanren zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 400.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 420.000,00 (€ 40.729,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bada Shanren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album Of Natore im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 76.910.000,00 (€ 8.889.373,15).
