Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Birth Of Bacchus From Jupiter'S Thigh by Baccio Bandinelli was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 34,375.00 (€ 25,305.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Baccio Bandinelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Colossal Bust Of An Ancient Hero in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 657,250.00 (€ 745,781.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Birth Of Bacchus From Jupiter'S Thigh von Baccio Bandinelli im Januar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 34.375,00 (€ 25.305,51) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Baccio Bandinelli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Colossal Bust Of An Ancient Hero im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 657.250,00 (€ 745.781,74).
