Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Male Nude Tied To A Tree, Possibly St. Sebastian, A River Landscape Beyond by Baccio Bandinelli was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The price achieved of USD 74,500.00 (€ 54,320.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Baccio Bandinelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Colossal Bust Of An Ancient Hero in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 657,250.00 (€ 745,781.74).
