Sold at the lower estimate price
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy in Clerical Script by Ba Weizu. The result of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 4,116.32) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ba Weizu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,006.18).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Clerical Script von Ba Weizu zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 4.116,32) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ba Weizu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.006,18) versteigert wurde.
