In November this year Christies in Paris held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, which included the work Untitled (No Flag Zone series) by Ayman Baalbaki. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,361.06), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ayman Baalbaki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ya’Illahi (Dear Lord) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 377,000.00 (€ 286,300.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (No Flag Zone series) von Ayman Baalbaki zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.361,06) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ayman Baalbaki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ya’Illahi (Dear Lord) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 377.000,00 (€ 286.300,12).
