Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lebanese prisoner Of War by Ayman Baalbaki was sold in the 20th Century Art/ Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in April 2017. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,843.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ayman Baalbaki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ya’Illahi (Dear Lord) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 377,000.00 (€ 286,300.12).

Die Arbeit Lebanese prisoner Of War von Ayman Baalbaki wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century Art/ Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.843,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ayman Baalbaki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ya’Illahi (Dear Lord) im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 377.000,00 (€ 286.300,12).
