In May 2011 Bukowski in Stockholm held the auction Spring Modern Auction, Stockholm, which included the work "Båtar på stranden" (Boats at beach, Grönvik, Djupvik, Öland) by Axel Kargel. The »bidding war« ended at SEK 32,000.00 (€ 3,601.56), 28% above the upper estimate. Other works by Axel Kargel have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of SEK 40,000.00 (€ 4,684.08) in April 2013 for the work House by the sea, Öland, Sweden.
