Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work A view over the pier in Kastrup by Axel Johansen was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 3,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,550.00 (€ 207.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Axel Johansen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vessels at a Danish port, which sold at auction in April 2003 for GBP 587.50 (€ 765.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit A view over the pier in Kastrup von Axel Johansen im August diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 3.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.550,00 (€ 207,93) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Axel Johansen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vessels at a Danish port beobachtet, die im April 2003 für GBP 587,50 (€ 765,47) versteigert wurde.
