Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cairo, Egypt by Axel Herman Haig was sold in the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in August 2003. The price achieved of GBP 564.00 (€ 809.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Axel Herman Haig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Fin Barre'S Cathedral, Cork in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 15,892.93).
