This artwork by Avigdor Arikha achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2016. In the Israeli & International Art auction, the work Two Apples And Three Pears sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 53,307.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Avigdor Arikha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude On A Sheet, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 135,168.86).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Avigdor Arikha erzielte im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Israeli & International Art wurde die Arbeit Two Apples And Three Pears für USD 56.250,00 (€ 53.307,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Avigdor Arikha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude On A Sheet beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 162.500,00 (€ 135.168,86) versteigert wurde.
